What to expect when moving your supply

Application

We need to know the address where the supply needs moving to, your contact details, a brief summary of what you need (i.e. move my meter from behind my front door to outside) and an idea of when you need us to complete the work.

There are a number of ways to apply:

 Quotation

Once we receive your information your request is assigned to your dedicated planner. Your planner will be in touch to understand your requirements and plan for the cheapest cost option available to you. Our tailored quotations usually take no longer than five days.

Your quote will be tailored to your specific needs and can be as simple as a quote for our electrical works only or a quote which includes on site excavation and a new meter box.

Prices start from £700 for overhead supply alterations and £800 for underground supplies. Learn more about costs here. 

Get ready for the move

If you are completing your own excavation, follow our guide to help you prepare for our visit. Included in our guide is all the information you could need to plan for you meter move and we have also included extra information to help just in case you are moving a smart meter.

If you are not doing any excavation you still need to book an electrician to take care of your internal wiring.

Pay for your quote and plan your date

When you are ready on site, you need to accept your quotation and send your signed acceptance form back to us. We will contact you within 48 hrs to agree the date for the work to begin.

We commit to completing your supply move within 20 days of payment; providing you are ready for the work. Learn more about the different ways to pay.

We complete the supply move for you

The actual work on site will vary depending on your needs but most jobs usually include more than one visit to complete any digging followed by the electrical work.

We cannot move your supply whilst it is ‘live’ on the network so our expert jointer will ‘disconnect’ your supply before moving to your new position and re-connecting your supply.  

This usually only takes an hour or two to complete; we will agree a morning or afternoon appointment with you so you can book your electricians appointment on the same day to take care of your internal wiring. Learn more about moving our equipment.
