Need support before you apply?
As a customer you can get a competitive quote from an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) for elements of the work involved in getting an electricity connection. This is known as ‘contestable work’ and can be completed by an Independent Connection Provider (ICP) or an Independent Distribution Network Operator (IDNO). Accredited ICPs are able to carry out all contestable works.
We actively promote competition in connections and are committed to ensuring that ICPs can compete freely and fairly. Please see the diagram below which shows how a new connection works and the works that can be carried out by Electricity North West, ICP or IDNO.
