Applying for our apprentice programme could be the most important decision of your career journey, hopefully the questions below will help.
Applications for our 2024 apprenticeship programme will open in Autumn 2023 and run until mid-February 2024.
If you haven’t heard anything about your application yet, don’t worry we will be working through all the applications that we've received. We will contact all candidates to let them know whether or not they have been successful in reaching the next stage of the process. Unfortunately due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to provide detailed feedback at shortlist on why your application wasn’t successful.
Our apprentice programmes last for two to three years depending on the apprenticeship route you have chosen. It includes a combination of formal classroom training, academic study, coaching, mentoring and hands-on placement experience.
Our typical working week currently averages 37 hours, but your actual working hours will depend on your apprentice programme and the role you could obtain after successfully completing your apprenticeship.
Once you come to the end of the apprenticeship programme, you will complete an end point assessment to complete the apprenticeship programme and apply for a permanent role in one of our teams.
Our apprenticeship programme will begin in September 2024. Once you've been offered a place on the programme, we'll keep in touch with you to provide you with lots of information in readiness for starting your new role with us.
There is no age limit; we welcome applications from any candidate whose application meets the minimum criteria outlined in the job advert.
Yes, you can apply again if you meet the minimum criteria.
Yes, as a registered sponsoring employer with the UK Border Agency, we can process work permit applications on behalf of candidates who are successful in the assessment/interview process.
Getting ready to attend an assessment centre can be daunting, but rest assured we'll provide you with all the information you need beforehand. We can answer any questions you have before the day and we'll let you have our contact details to get in touch if you need to. Our team will be there to help you feel at ease throughout the day.
Preparation is always good; have a look at our website and get to know who we are and what we do a little more. It’s a great idea to find out about the company you're applying to for work and if we're a good match for you.
Think about your education or extracurricular activities, maybe you have some work or voluntary experience, and think about what skills you have gained and how these experiences might relate to the role you're applying for.
On the day we'll tell you about the programmes in more detail. There will be an opportunity to meet and speak with current apprentices about their time with us so you can make an informed choice if an apprenticeship is the right choice for you.
As part of the interview/assessment day you'll take part in group activities, workshops and an interview so we can get to know you and you can get to know us.
So please come prepared to take part in these activities and, importantly, enjoy the day.
