Our stakeholder engagement strategy
Our stakeholder engagement strategy
We take pride in being a stakeholder-led business and our stakeholder engagement strategy aims to deliver the outcomes our stakeholders prioritise and value. Our strategy enables us to better serve stakeholders by understanding their current and future needs and expectations.
Our strategy
Carrying out effective engagement with our stakeholders is crucial to delivering our license to operate in the North West and we are committed to providing the highest engagement standards.
Our approach helps us to identify opportunities to:
- Improve our services and business performance,
- Manage uncertainty and risk,
- Identify priorities
- Deliver greater value and care to our customers.
We have embedded a five-step approach to planning and delivering stakeholder engagement which ensures multiple opportunities for collaboration, communication, and consultation.
AccountAbility AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard
Our strategy is aligned to the AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard (2015), which is considered the ‘gold standard’ in stakeholder engagement accreditation, and the AA1000 AccountAbility Principles (2018) of Inclusivity, Materiality, Responsiveness and Impact. This is a principles-based framework, used globally by businesses to demonstrate leadership and performance in accountability, responsibility, and sustainability.
Our AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard health-check performance
AccountAbility’s Stakeholder Engagement Healthcheck is used to assess an organisation’s stakeholder engagement strategies, activities, and implementation against the AA1000SES and industry-leading stakeholder engagement practices.
In 2022/23 we achieved a score of 74% putting us within the Accomplished stage of the Accountability Stakeholder Engagement Maturity Ladder.
This demonstrates a continued year-on-year improvement and a 6% growth from last year. Our continued ambition demonstrates our commitment to continuously improving our stakeholder engagement practice.
The feedback received via this assurance activity is considered in the round with insights from our stakeholder satisfaction surveys and wider engagement programme to drive improvement and communicate stakeholder engagement performance and commitments.
We welcome your feedback
We’re committed to improving our stakeholder engagement practice and we always welcome constructive feedback. If you would like to provide feedback on our engagement programme, please get in touch by emailing us at Stakeholderengagement@enwl.co.uk
