Green Financing Framework

Our Green Financing Framework sets out how we can develop and identify eligible projects, giving investors clarity that they are aligned with the best market principles and international principles governing sustainable financing.

Projects that will be financed or refinanced under the Framework include investments to increase the amount of renewable electricity generation that is connected to the network, use smart technologies to improve the network’s energy efficiency, and to improve biodiversity.

All eligible spend from any funds as part of the Green Financing Framework will fit into one of the following seven categories set out in the International Capital Market Association’s Green Bond Principles:

• renewable energy
• energy efficiency
• pollution prevention and control
• green buildings
• climate change adaptation
• environmentally sustainable management of living natural resources and land use
• clean transportation.
