Wythenshawe

Wythenshawe £7m upgrade

We have invested £7m in Wythenshawe and the surrounding area near Manchester Airport and Airport City to make the power network fit for the future.

Our teams installed a total of 30km of new underground electricity cables along a 5km route between Styal Road and Thorley Lane to power the area for years to come.

The project saw the first net zero substation built in the North West which uses power from 128 solar panels to self sufficiently run the electrical switchgear and lighting.
