Wythenshawe project continues to progress

Our work upgrading the power network in and around Manchester Airport has progressed onto the next stage.

As part of the South Manchester Enterprise Zone project, we are installing a new 33,000-volt substation housing two 40-tonne electricity transformers almost doubling network capacity in the area.

Our engineers will also install 30km of new underground electricity cables, with multiple cables along a 5km route between Styal Road and Thorley Lane to power the rapidly expanding Airport City Manchester and surrounding areas.

The work will improve power supply to thousands of homes and businesses in the local area and as our engineers progress, a road closure to allow work to be carried out safely will now be place.

From Friday, January 25th until Friday, February 14th, two sections of Thorley Lane will be closed, and an agreed diversion will be in place.

Access to Jet Parks 1 (only) will be from the Etrop Grange Hotel of Thorley Lane. Once this section is complete and closure two commences, access to Jet Parks will be through the airport diversion.
