Powering your future - secondary workshops

In partnership with Science Made Simple we aim to help your students understand key links in the curriculum around electricity, while inspiring them to become confident, creative thinkers and problem solvers.

The workshops take a practical and interactive approach, incorporating contemporary case studies and role models to engage students with real-world applications of STEM and the careers involved.

Curriculum links

  • Understanding positive and negative charges in static electricity
  • Insulating and conducting components in electrical circuits
  • Voltage as a measurement of electrical potential or pressure
  • Amperage as a means to measure the amount of electricity running through a circuit.
  • Ohms as a measure of electrical resistance
  • Wattage and electrical power.
  • Engineering as a designing, making and problem-solving process.
  • Electrical safety as part of personal, health, social and economic education
