Cumbria March 2019

This Request for Proposal (RfP) was seeking a ‘restore’ response for three areas in Cumbria, Alston, Coniston and Easton. Flexible service providers would be required to provide up to 1.8MW in 2019 starting from November 2019. The minimum capacity criteria for directly contracted resources was 100kW, and for aggregated portfolios, 250kW.

The deadline for submissions to this RfP was 7th June 2019.

Unfortunately, there were insufficient responses. This means that the amount of flexibility proposed by participants did not meet the minimum amount of capacity required either individually or combined and consequently we are unable to commence award of a flexible service contract to any participants.

The demand growth at Alston, Coniston and Easton will be assessed as part of our annual loading review, which will be completed by Autumn 2019.

As part of this review, we analyse the demand growth at all of our sites along with our demand forecasts to determine whether reinforcement is required, or if they suitable for future flexible services requests for proposals.
