Project partners
We will work with a number of partners and key suppliers on the BiTraDER project, each a leading expert in their field either in research, technology or customer engagement.
Our partners on BiTraDER are Electron, AFRY and LCP Delta.
Electron
Electron is an energy technology firm which specialises in digitally optimised energy marketplaces. Their experience includes building ElectronConnect, a platform that supports marketplaces for SSE, NG ESO and London Hydro, and technology deployed in a real-time local marketplace in Orkney.
Role on project
- Support customer engagement to understand optimal solution for DER
- Develop and provide market trading platform to enable DER to trade their curtailment obligations via a neutral secondary market
- Develop a simulated version of the trading platform using modelled live systems to simulate real operations
- Transition to a ‘live’ system using live network data and real transactions
- Support stakeholder engagement within industry
AFRY
AFRY is a leader in engineering, design and consulting services. They have previously supported on a number of innovation fund projects such as Low Carbon London and Smarter Network Storage, and have provided support to Ofgem on development of the Strategic Innovation Fund during the RIIO-ED2 advisory review.
Role on project
- CBA of wider rollout based on observed outcomes
- Develop and design trading rules for new trading platform
- Provide ongoing monitoring, analysis and evaluation of trades and outcomes
- Support in design of market trading platform
- Identification of interface and interaction frameworks with ESO and regulatory/policy changes to enhance outcomes
- Support stakeholder engagement within industry
LCP Delta
LCP Delta is an energy research and consultancy service with a background in emerging distributed energy markets. They have previously worked on projects involving DNO demand side flexibility markets across Europe and have conducted studies geared towards finding the right strategies for using demand side flexibility.
