ENWL011 - Enhanced Voltage Control
ENWL011 - Enhanced Voltage Control
The second tier Low Carbon Networks Fund project, Customer Load Active System Services (CLASS), has now reached a conclusion and has proved there is a relationship between voltage and demand which can be exploited to reduce peak demand and assist with balancing generation. Although CLASS provided a fit-for-purpose technical solution, there may be other solutions more appropriate for adopting CLASS into business as usual. This project will define the technical requirements to allow a rollout across Great Britain.
The project will also review voltage control settings to allow faster connection of generators to enable us to offer voltage managed connection contracts.
Timescales: November 2015 – July 2019.
