The process to install a heat pump
- Choose an installer
Simply choose an installer, and they will handle the rest. You can find approved installers by visiting the government website Find a heat pump installer - GOV.UK and entering your postcode.
- Let us know
Once you've chosen an installer, they will visit you to complete the necessary checks and assess whether they can directly install the pump. If they can, they will notify us of the installation within 28 days by XXXX.
- When installers need our support
If your electricity supply needs an upgrade, one of our experts will assess the requirements and provide a reinforcement design for any necessary work. Occasionally, we may need to visit you as part of the assessment.
- Completing the connection
If you're happy with the quotation, we'll schedule the work. Once completed, your installer can connect your heat pump.
The cost and time
If any works are required to upgrade the supply to facilitate LCT’s being installed there is no cost to the customer if the connection is single phase and less than 100 amperages, all costs are covered by ENWL. We can't provide exact time frames online, but we'll give you a detailed timeframe after reviewing your application. In some cases, we may need to visit you first, which will be arranged through your installer. We're here to support you and ensure a smooth installation process for your heat pump.
