Net Zero Terrace discovery project
Net Zero Terrace Discovery project
Net Zero Terrace will demonstrate how to decarbonise an entire terraced street using a Smart Local Energy System (SLES) that is integrated with the network, optimised, affordable to consumers and easily replicable across GB.
Electricity North West began delivery of this two-month project in April 2023 alongside partners Buro Happold, RV Energy, Rossendale Borough Council and Northern Powergrid.
The discovery phase will:
- Explore potential regulatory barriers
- Identify DNO/DSO interface requirements
- Develop a strategy to engage with communities and local authorities
- Develop a spatial plan
- Explore technical design options
- Engage with the supply chain
- Assess compatibility of the solution with other DNOs
For more information, please see the project registration page on ENA's Smarter Networks Portal.
